The City of Albany Board of Aldermen met earlier this week where they approved a base contract with Eco-Energy Natural Gas, LLC for natural gas services.
City Administrator Derrick Brown says that it would not be exclusive and is just to expand their options.
"That was a contract with a natural gas supplier of which our marketing agent utilizes several suppliers to create a portfolio of natural gas suppliers for our gas utility. So was just adding a company called Eco-Energy Natural Gas to that portfolio as option for him to utilize when making our purchases."
The next regular meeting will be held August 20th at 5 p.m..
